Change of cuvées names and labels

In early 2020, the labels and names of the cuvées were changed.

The labels have adopted a more classic and elegant style, to «sit a reassuring side as well as give a strong identity throughout the range». 

The new names are based on the heads of the estate from which the vines come.

You will find below the new names and labels with the photos of the previous cuvées:

 

 

  • L'IMPERTINENT becomes VALLONGUE from the name of the small stream that runs along the vines from which the grapes come for this cuvée.

    Vallongue is the gourmet line par excellence: lots of fruit, freshness, tonicity and immediate pleasure.

Vallongue blanc

45 % marsanne, 35 % roussanne, 20 %  Vermentino.

Fermentation in stainless steel tank after destemming and ageing on fine lees for 6 months in stainless steel tanks.

Beautiful aromatic intensity of flowers, white fruits and exotic fruits.

Notes of flint and flint translate the minerality of the soil, enhanced by light floral notes of verbena and linden and touches of exotic fruits and citrus.

Cellaring : at least 5 years 

Vallongue rosé

50 % grenache noir, 30% Mourvèdre 20% syrah.

Fermentation in stainless steel tank after destemming. Ageing on fine lees for 6 months in stainless steel tanks.

Aromas of raspberry, strawberry, grapefruit and pineapple with subtle floral notes in a mineral and tonic mouth.

Cellaring : at least 3 years.

Vallongue rouge

45% syrah, 35 % grenache noir, 15 % carignan, 5 % mourvèdre.

After manual sorting, destemming and pressing, the cuvaison time varies according to the grape varieties and their maturity.

Aging 18 months stainless steel tanks.

Expressive and tender red fruit nose with peppery notes. The mouth is characterized by an elegant tannic texture that enhances the sensation of freshness, complexity and balance.

Cellaring : At least 8 years.

  • INVERSO BECOMES UNDER THE ROCS. The head is called Les Roques, under the rocks evokes the high point of the plot from which the grapes of this cuvée come.

    Fermentation of the two grape varieties together in new half-muids.

Sous les Rocs blanc

60 % marsanne, 40 % roussanne.

Vinifying and aging 8 months maximum in these same half-muids.

Intense aromas of flowers, white fruits and exotic fruits. Nice minerality, notes of flint and flint carried by touches of exotic fruits and citrus. Elegant and complex wine, with a nice balance.

Childcare capacity: more than 5 years.

Sous les Rocs rouge

40 % syrah, 30 % mourvèdre, 30 % grenache noir.

Aging 18 months in barrels, half-muids and barrels (1/3 new, 1/3 two wines, 1/3 three wines). Syrah in barrels, grenache and mourvèdre in lightning and half-muids.

Deep nose, with a nice intensity of spices, red and black fruits, amplified by the aging that plays a magnificent role of enhancer. The mouth, perfectly balanced, is distinguished by the frame of its tight and sweet tannins, its remarkable length on notes of cocoa, coffee and liquorice, not to mention the red and black fruits. A superb material in which the breeding under the wood knew to be forgotten!

  • CLOS DU FOU, stays CLOS DU FOU

Clos du Fou

The plot was planted on a very steep hill (300 m) which was said to «if the mules could not go up there, no vine could cling to it».  This had earned him the quolibet of «ally of the madman».

Basically and especially syrah!

Maturing 18 months in barrels (1/3 new 1/3 two wines 1/3 three wines).

Intense and delicate nose with aromas of violet and black fruits. The mouth unfolds its great complexity and its remarkable balance in a delicate tannic structure where are mixed notes of cocoa, liquorice and coffee that amplify the final bouquet.

  • RAISON D'ETRE BECOME FONTANILLE (small source in Occitan), it is the name of the head where come the plots for elaborated this cuvée, they are also the oldest vines of the estate 50 years for the syrah and 90 years for the grenache.

 Fontanille

85 % Syrah, 15% Grenache.

Cuvaison adaptée à chaque cépage.

Complete vinification and ageing 18 months in half-muids and new barrels, Syrah in barrels and grenache in half-muids.

Deep and delicate nose with aromas of blackberry, cherry and blackcurrant. Great aromatic complexity, enveloped by tight, ripe, smooth and charming tannins. Elegance and finesse characterize «Fontanille», endowed with a nice balance and a very nice length in the mouth in which the flavors of red fruits, coffee, licorice mint, cocoa, secondary aromas and tertiary aromas gush.
