VALLONGUE RED

Fruit, balance, complexity and delicacy make the Vallongue range exceptional cuvées
This cuvee is named after the small creek, VALLONGUE, that runs along the vines from which the grapes come from to elaborate it.
red wine syrah grenache organic grand vin languedoc faugères
Blend : 45% Syrah ; 35% Grenache ; 15% Carignan ; 5% Mourvèdre.

Average age of the vines: 35 years old.

Alcool : 14 %

Vinification : Vinified traditionally. Organic grapes are hand-harvested at optimum maturity, grapes are then hand sorted. All grapes are destemmed.

Aged 50% in oak vats and 50% in tank for minimum 14 months. Each grape variety is vinified separately and aged accordingly.

Tasting : A robe of deep ruby and an expressive, charming nose of red fruits and lightly peppered spices. An honest, mineral-style wine with elegant tannins that enhance its freshness, complexity and balance.

Serve and cellaring : Serve between 15 and 18° C, open younger vintages an hour before. Can be aged for 8 to 10 years.

Pairings: red meats, white meat stewed or in sauce, game (not too strong, you’re told), beef or a duck breast.
