2018: Small Year
2018 will remain etched in the memories of the estate due to the very high pressure of late blight observed at the vineyard. Despite all efforts and our seriousness, we could not contain it in organic farming.
Fall and winter conform to season averages with temperature and precipitation and temperature consistent with seasonal normals. It was an excessively rainy spring that put a lot of pressure on downy mildew disease that could not be contained in bio and biodynamic despite all our efforts and all the time we spent on it.
The grapes that escaped are rare. Only some rare clusters could escape but the conditions of a very dry summer plus the shock of the disease on the vines gave a medium maturity.
